Project calendar settings
After installing the app and completing the initial setup, users with Booking Manager access should:
Set up request types.
Configure calendars.
Setting up request types
For detailed instructions on how to set up request types, refer to the Atlassian documentation.
Ensure the following steps are completed:
Create a request type based on an issue type that an administrator has added to the app’s context. If you prefer to use an existing request type, ensure its associated issue type is already included in the app’s context.
Create your calendar using either the existing request type or the one you have just configured. The necessary fields will be added automatically once the calendar is configured.
To ensure the app functions correctly, verify that your request type includes these required fields:
Booking start (automatically added when the calendar is configured)
Booking end (automatically added when the calendar is configured)
Booking calendar (automatically added when the calendar is configured)
The field which stores the values of objects that customers need to book needs to be added manually to the issue type screen (and shouldn’t be added to the request screen for the app to function properly)
The field which stores the values of objects that customers need to book must be added to the issue‑type screen by admin — do not include it on the request‑creation screen to ensure the app works correctly.
Configuring calendars
Navigate to Project → Addons → Booking Tab.
Here, you can create or delete calendars (:delete:), edit existing ones (:pen:), or further configure permissions.Navigate to Project → Booking for Jira app.
Here, you can create new calendars, view existing calendars or edit them (:pen:).
Each calendar includes several settings:
Ensure the created request type is linked to the calendar.
Permissions are configured for the entire project, not for individual calendars. For more information about permissions management, read here.
After completing these steps, users with Customer access can create requests, and users with Agent access can manage bookings.
