Booking userflow for customers

This page will help you understand how your customers can use the app. Once the request type and booking calendar are configured, your customers can start creating requests.

Creating a Booking Request

When creating a request, your customers will see fields for:

  • Booking Start/End: These fields are crucial for defining the booking period.

  • Booking Calendar: This field contains the calendar object necessary for the app's functionality.

  • Additional Configured Fields: Any other field you have set up.

Using the Booking Calendar

The Booking Calendar is a special field that allows customers to access the calendar directly from the request form. Through this, they can select the object they need to book, along with the desired date and time.

  1. Customers can access the calendar by clicking the Check the calendar button on the request form. This calendar provides a visual overview of available objects and their booking statuses.
By default, only the issue key and booking start and end times are visible on the booking cards.

Bookings are shown in each user’s local time zone, as configured in their Jira profile.

  1. Customers can choose the required timeslots by clicking on the calendar. The selected object, date, and time will appear in the calendar footer.

  2. The chosen timeslot will be highlighted in blue for clear visibility.

  3. After selecting the desired timeslot, customers need to click the Save button.

Bookings are limited to single-day time slots. To book multiple days, submit separate requests.

The app's UI blocks double bookings, but users can still manually change the date in the request form, which may cause conflicts.

  1. The calendar screen will close, date and time will be automatically filled into the corresponding request fields.

  2. When customers click the Save button, the Calendar screen will close, and the selected object along with the date and time will be populated in the request fields.
